I am seriously asking, what's with confusing we're and were? "Nintendo announced that they we are mourning his death" sounds plainly wrong. Can't fix the "he is survived", because I have no idea what it meant in first place.

Yamauchi took over as a president of Nintendo after his grandfather suffered a stroke and died later in 1949. Yamauchi was known product of gamblings, poker and later console manfaucter. He stepped down as an President in 2002 and was suceeded by current Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. He countiune to work as a borad until 2005.
