The January 14 Nintendo Direct revealed that select {{bp|Wii}} titles will be available for purchase on the {{bp|Wii U}} eShop for US$20.

One of the features of the Wii U console is that it has a Wii Mode, which gives it backwards compatibility with Wii discs. This new form of software available on the eShop allows the games to be played from the Wii U's Home Menu, without Wii Mode.
