In 1983, Iwata became coordinator of software production a {{bp|HAL Laboratories}}; in 1993, he was appointed president of HAL Laboratories. He helped with the founding of {{bp|Creatures Inc.}} in 1995. Despite not working for Nintendo at the time, he helped with the development of {{game|Gold and Silver|s}}, compressing the game enough to be able to include {{bp|Kanto}} as well as {{bp|Johto}}. Additionally, he was largely responsible for converting the code of {{game|Red and Green|s}} (for the {{bp|Game Boy}}) for {{bp|Pokémon Stadium (Japanese)|Pokémon Stadium}} (for the {{bp|Nintendo 64}}). | |||
