Z-Moves based on attack moves have greater power than regular moves, but the specific power of the move depends on the original move that was turned into the Z-Move, and hit through {{m|Protect}} and {{m|Detect}} but with reduced power. Z-Moves based on status moves power up the status move, providing additional effects such as raising its own stats or healing the next Pokémon to switch in.
