{{bp|Niantic}} is working with [https://playmob.com/ Playmob] and local {{wp|non-governmental organizations|NGOs}} (or non-governmental organizations), having been inspired by [https://mission-blue.org/ Mission Blue], to host cleanup events around the world. This is to promote {{wp|Earth Day}} through gaming.

These cleanup events will involve picking up litter and cleaning natural areas alongside other community helpers and {{bp|Pokémon GO}} players for 48 hours.

*1,500 players cleaning up litter:
**Unlock 2x Stardust when catching {{bp|Ground (type)|Ground}}, {{bp|Water (type)|Water}}, and {{bp|Grass (type)|Grass-type}} Pokémon.

*3,000 players cleaning up litter:
**Unlock 3x Stardust when catching Ground, Water, and Grass-type Pokémon.

Niantic and TPC will also be making a financial contribution to Mission Blue as well.
