Moltres Day has been announced for September 8th and is a part of {{bp|Professor Willow}}’s Global Challenge. From September 1st to 2nd, challenge requirements are to be met globally during the {{bp|Safari Zone}} event in {{wp|Yokosuka, Kanagawa|Yokosuka}}, {{wp|Japan}}. If each area of the world achieves the requirements, players will unlock bonus {{bp|Stardust (GO)|Stardust}} for catching Pokémon and hatching {{bp|Egg|Eggs}}, including a guaranteed 3,000 Stardust for every {{bp|Gym (GO)#Raid Battles|raid}}, starting September 3rd at 1:00 P.M. {{wp|Pacific Time Zone|PDT}}.

If all goals are achieved, players worldwide will be able to receive up to five free Raid passes when players spin a Photo Disc at a {{bp|Gym (GO)|Gym}} during Moltres Day, featuring the {{bp|Legendary Pokémon}} {{bp|Moltres}}. On September 8th, Moltres will be available in Raid Battles around the world for a three-hour period. During that time, all Moltres caught will know {{bp|Sky Attack}}. Its {{bp|Shiny Pokémon|Shiny}} form is also available.
