{{bp|Nintendo}} have announced the {{bp|Nintendo Switch Lite}}, a handheld-only variant of the Nintendo Switch. It will be released worldwide on September 20, 2019.

One of the primary features of the flagship Nintendo Switch is its ability to be played in one of three different modes: Handheld Mode, Tabletop Mode, or TV Mode. In contrast, the Nintendo Switch Lite can only be played in Handheld Mode. The Nintendo Switch Lite does not come with Joy-Con controllers; instead, the system and buttons all form a single piece of hardware. As a result, the Nintendo Switch Light does not have HD rumble or an infrared camera. Additionally, the directional buttons have been replaced with a D-Pad. For games that require Joy-Cons, such as {{wp|1-2 -Switch}}, they must be purchased separately.

The system will be available in three different colors: yellow, grey and turquoise.

It is marketed as a cheaper alternative to the flagship Nintendo Switch. It has a suggested retail price of US$199.99 in the United States, CA$259.99 in Canada, AU$329.95 in Australia, ¥19,980 in Japan, ₩249,800 in South Korea, HK$1,490 in Hong Kong, and NT$6,180 in Taiwan.

It will be released in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan on Nov. 1, 2019; and in North America, Europe, and Australia on Nov. 8, 2019.
