On December 7, 2010, Pokémon Adventures volume 10 was released in North America by VIZ Media. This volume, the tenth installment of the immensely popular manga series created by 日下秀憲 Hidenori Kusaka and illustrated by 山本サトシ Satoshi Yamamoto, is the first appearance of Crystal and her Pokémon. This is also the first volume illustrated by Satoshi Yamamoto, replacing Mato.

In Japan, three new manga chapters were published as well. Chapter four of Pokémon Master Black & White, an "advice comic" by 勝見直人 Naoto Katsumi, appeared in the December 2010 issue of CoroCoro Comics Special. In addition, chapter three of 穴久保幸作 Kosaku Anakubo's popular Pocket Monsters BW manga appeared in the December 2010 issue of CoroCoro Comics. Finally, a brand-new manga created by 井上桃太 Momota Inoue entitled Pocket Monsters BW: Meetings with the Legends appeared in the Winter 2010 CoroCoro G, which is published twice a year. Inoue is also known for writing and illustrating the manga adaptation of Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark.

In addition to current releases, Shōgakukan announced the February 2011 release of the second and final volume of Kosaku Anakubo's Pocket Monsters HGSS manga, as was previously reported on Bulbanews. The next scheduled release from VIZ Media will be Pokémon Adventures volume 11 and Pokémon Adventures volume 30 in February 2011. The latest releases from Chuang Yi have yet to be announced.
