Each episode is purchasable individually and/or bundled in a four-episode collection, with options including {{wp|Standard-definition television|standard-definition}} (SD) and {{wp|High-definition television|high-definition}} (HD) presentations. The standard-definition edition is priced at $1.99 per episode and $7.96 as a collection, while the high-definition edition costs $2.99 per episode and $11.96 as a collection. The mini-series, based off of the events of {{bp|Pokémon Red and Blue}} and unrelated to the main {{bp|Pokémon anime}}, chronicles {{bp|Red (Origins)|Red}}'s journey as a {{bp|Pokémon Trainer}} throughout the {{bp|Kanto}} region. During his adventure, Red sets off to complete his {{bp|Pokédex}} by encountering many species of {{bp|Pokémon (species)|Pokémon}} on his travels, in addition to battling members of the {{bp|Pokémon League}} and squaring off with {{bp|Team Rocket}}. ''Pokémon Origins'' was first broadcast in Japan on October 2, 2013, later receiving English distribution to platforms such as {{bp|Pokémon TV}} and {{bp|Hulu}} beginning in November 2013. The iTunes release marks the first time that ''Pokémon Origins'' is available for home-media purchase outside of Japanese and [[Pokémon Origins to be released on DVD in Australia on April 28|Australian]] territories, as a {{wp|DVD}}/{{wp|Blu-ray Disc|Blu-ray}} release in North American territories has yet to be announced.
