Fellow anime voice actor {{wp|Nobuyuki Kobushi}} broke the news on Twitter, commenting that "I really... Wanted to act more and more together, and I wanted to learn a lot more from him..." Ishimori was perhaps best known for voicing the character Sengoku in {{wp|One Piece}}. However, his diverse voice credits include anime (Yuu Isayama in {{wp|Ga-rei}}: Zero; Gonzy in {{wp|Eureka Seven}}), video games (Ranzō Fujibayashi in {{wp|Tales of Phantasia}}; Bashful in {{wp|Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep}}) and Japanese dubs of English-language movies (the Sorting Hat in {{wp|Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (film)|Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone}}, Grandpa Joe in {{wp|Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory}}).
