It's probably worth noting that Castform also takes some inspiration from the tanuki, a raccoon in Japanese folklore noted for its transformational abilities. lickitung is said to be baised off a lizard of some sort but i always thought it was based off a Gila Monster.
it would be cool to see an On the Origin of Species page on lickitung
