Three brand new 3DS themes have been released in Japan, two of which are bundled together.

The theme "Pokémon: Pokémon-Amie Substitute" (ポケパルレのみがわり) features several Pokémon in a mountain of {{m|substitute}} dolls. The artwork scrolls when moving through the Home screen. The background music is "{{bp|Head It}}" from {{bp|Pokémon X and Y}}. It costs ¥200.

The theme "Pokémon Pair Art: Latias & Latios" features artwork of {{p|Latias}} and {{p|Latios}}. The artwork does not scroll. The background music is "Soaring Illusions" from {{bp|Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire}} (the music played while {{bp|soaring in the sky}}).

The theme "Pokémon Pair Art: Gardevoir & Gallade" features artwork of {{p|Gardevoir}} and {{p|Gallade}}. The artwork does not scroll. The background music is "{{bp|Wally}}'s Theme" from {{bp|Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire}}.

"Pokémon Pair Art: Latias & Latios" and "Pokémon Pair Art: Gardevoir & Gallade" are sold as the bundle "Pokémon Pair Art", which costs ¥300.
