The Pokémon Card XY era will continue on. The Japanese XY5 set block will consist of a pair of sets, the first named '''Gaia Volcano''' which focuses on {{bp|Primal Reversion|Primal}} {{p|Groudon}}, the second named '''Tidal Storm''' which focuses on Primal Kyogre. Each set will have 70 cards, excluding secret rares and ultra rares. The pair come out on Dec. 13, 2014.

The blister pack '''Special Pack: Silver M Metagross-EX''' will be released alongside these two sets, a Japanese equivalent of the {{bp|XY TCG Series merchandise#Mega Metagross-EX Premium Collection|Mega Metagross-EX Premium Collection}}, which features 3 Gaia Volcano booster packs, 3 Tidal Storm packs, and three promo cards: a Shiny Metagross-EX, a Shiny M Metagross-EX, and a Torchic. The blister pack will retail for ¥1,000 (excluding tax).

Additionally, a Primal Energy Box was announced, which is set to contain 45 {{TCG|Energy card}}s and 5 promo {{TCG|Trainer card}}s for ¥500 (excluding tax). It is not yet known which Trainers will be included, as the sell sheet currently is using the {{TCG|XY-P Promotional cards}} from the {{bp|XY TCG Era merchandise#Energy Card Official Card Box Xerneas•Yveltal|Xerneas & Yveltal Card Box}} that was released with {{TCG|XY|Collection X and Collection Y}}.

A deck box and sleeves that feature Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre will also come out on Dec. 13, each retailing for ¥380.
