On December 2, {{bp|Pokémon XY volume 1}} was released by {{bp|VIZ Media}} in North America. This is the first volume of the {{bp|X & Y chapter (Adventures)|''X & Y'' chapter}} of the popular {{bp|Pokémon Adventures}} manga created by {{bp|Hidenori Kusaka}} and {{bp|Satoshi Yamamoto}}.

As the rounds of the ''X & Y'' chapter have not yet been collected in the standard volume format in Japan, the rounds in this volume have been collected directly from the magazine version. Although {{bp|Shogakukan}} in Japan is currently releasing the same rounds in a {{bp|Pocket Monsters Special XY volume 1|similar format}}, VIZ Media's volume is not identical &mdash; while Shogakukan's volumes collect about seven rounds each, VIZ Media's new volume collects only the first three, similar to their release of the ''Black & White'' chapter. [[Pokémon Adventures Ruby & Sapphire chapter to arrive in France|As previously reported on Bulbanews]], Kurokawa in {{bp|Pokémon in France|France}} have also announced a 2015 release for the ''X & Y'' chapter, although their release format has not yet been confirmed so it is unknown if they will be following the Japanese volumes, the English volumes or releasing the rounds their own way.

There are several other noteworthy manga releases for December 2014. In North America, VIZ Media also released {{bp|Pokémon Black and White volume 19}} on December 2. This is the second-to-last volume in the magazine version of the ''Black & White'' chapter.

In Japan, {{bp|Pokémon Adventures volume 52}} is due to be released on December 28. The fourth and final volume in the ''Ruby & Sapphire'' chapter omnibus edition is also due to be released sometime in December.

In {{bp|Pokémon in Brazil|Brazil}}, {{bp|Pokémon Adventures volume 45|Pokémon Black & White volume 3}} is due to be released some time in December. The Brazilian releases, while numbered differently, are based on the volume version beginning from volume 43.

In France, the first volume of the ''Ruby & Sapphire'' chapter omnibus edition is due to be released on December 11. This omnibus edition is uniquely French and has no correlation to any of the previous Japanese omnibus editions.

In {{bp|Pokémon in Italy|Italy}}, {{bp|Pokémon Black and White volume 3}} is due to be released on December 10. This edition is based on VIZ Media's volumes collecting the magazine version of the ''Black & White'' chapter.

No forthcoming releases for December have been announced by {{bp|Shogakukan Asia}} at this time. Their most recent release is {{bp|Pokémon Adventures volume 45}}, released on November 26.
