The article makes it seem as if using an English keyboard and non-trademark romanizations is unusual, which is not the case. As far as I can tell from the screenshots, the kids are taught to type the names in {{wp|kana}} the conventional Japanese way.

For example to type Strike's name (ストライク, {{p|Scyther}}'s Japanese name) in Japanese, one would have to type "sutoraiku" on a regular {{wp|Japanese IME}} in order to get the Japanese kana spelling. Likewise, I would expect the spelling "tabunnne" for タブンネ ({{p|Tabunne}}), and "ke-sili" or "keesili" for ケーシィ ({{p|Abra|Casey}}; standard Hepburn romanization: Kēshī).

It may seem random, but it is the conventional way to type them. And yes, on a standard "English" qwerty keyboard layout.
