More news and information relating to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U has been announced by various official Nintendo websites and other websites.

The Nintendo Company in Japan has revealed that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, released in Japan on 13 September, had over a million copies sold (including download versions) in the first two days of release. It is the fourth title on the Nintendo 3DS platform to sell over one million copies in its first week of release, following Monster Hunter 4, Pokemon X and Y, and Yo-Kai Watch 2: Ganso/Honke.

GameSpot has revealed that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will be able to connect with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U to use the 3DS as a controller for the Wii U version. This option will be accessible from the main menu of the 3DS version as shown in the thumbnail of the article.

The American Nintendo.com website has announced that Limited Edition Super Smash Bros. 3DS XL which is coming Europe will also be released in red and blue versions in America with a price of $199.99 but it will not come with a physical or digital copy Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. Toys 'R' Us lists it with release date of 19 September. The gallery below shows pictures of the blue and red Limited Edition Super Smash Bros. 3DS XLs.

Nintendo.com and Nintendo of Europe Twitter have announced that there will be two versions of the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Demo released in America and Europe. One version will be a free version available on the American and European Nintendo eShops from 19 September and can only be opened from the 3DS Home Menu a maximum of 30 times. The other version is available now to selected Club Nintendo members who recieved an email on 12 September with 4 codes to be redeemed on the Nintendo eShop to download a special version of the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Demo which can be played an unlimited number of times. The American Nintendo.com website reports that these codes must be redeemed by 19 September but the Nintendo UK emails do not contain this warning. Selected shops in America wil also have 3DSes with the unlimited demo that all customers can use. Below is a quote from the email received by selected Club Nintendo members registered with Nintendo UK including proof that the special demo can be used unlimited amount of times.
