:anyone who can read katakana should be able to notice the subtle difference between ウイッシュ and ウィッシュ after I point it out. It should be ウィッシュ but this series is called "ベストウイッシュ" and strongly suggests that they're trying to mention イッシュ, as Mackinz said. ::I don't think I can agree that "wish" is always normally represented as 「ウィッシュ」 - a Google search for 「ウイッシュ」 reveals lots of results with a full-size イ that have nothing to do with Pokémon. However, I do think that the connection between 「ウイッシュ」 and 「イッシュ」 is too large to be ignored; this was a deliberate choice. (They might even have chosen the region name specifically for this...)
